Well, vacation is over. For relaxing vacations, this has been a good one. We did some short traveling, swimming, fishing, golfing, chasing some cattle, eating out and some just plain nothing. It has been a good time. Tonight is movie and pizza night with the kids and Tami. I love watching movies with my family. Both boys have a laugh that is contagious and Kirsten lets herself get completely involved in the story of the movie. Me? Well, I get to sit with Tami and soak it all up. I can count on one hand the times that I have actually been to a theater with my wife, but I am not able to count the times that we have sat as a family and watched a movie. Yes partly because I am cheap and don't want to pay the hight price of the theater, but, even more so I like to watch my kids have a great time. We are together, in one place, laughing or crying together, stopping the movie numerous times to "I got to go!!!" and then spouting off one liners for weeks taken from the various movies that we have watched. These are our family times that I enjoy and will remember for ever. So tonight the one liner is "They look expensive!" If you've seen the movie let us know what you think!!

As much as I love the firehouse, I also love to get away.....I AM ON VACATION!!!! It has been only one day and Tami is already tired of hearing me say it. We are planning on going someplace, not sure where but it will be nice to just be with Tami and the kids. Through Skype we were able to talk to some great friends of ours last evening, Bob and Kay. A couple who loves the Lord and who roasts great coffee! Before Kay really knew me she sat me down before Tami and I were married and questioned me to make sure that I was going to be the Godly husband that Tami deserved. I can't really remember our exact conversation but I do remember that her desire was for Tami to have a husband that Loves God and will treat her as a Godly husband should. Well, Kay, thank you for that conversation and I want you to talk to my future son in law, whoever that may be and "let him have it" just as you did for me. Me, I will let him have it too, but he may not even make it to the door!! Thank you for loving Godly friends who are willing and able to demonstrate Christs love to me.

Easily Forgotten

It has been a tradition for several years for Tami and I to host a party on July 4th. Often we move this to July 3rd depending on my work schedule, but the party remains the same. Both Tami's family, her brother and sister, mom and dad come, my family includes my brother and mom and dad, they also come. My brother in laws mom comes and then usually several next door neighbors come. All this to say, we have a full house. Well, last night was a little different because my other brother in law's inlaws came, from Oklahoma. As we were visiting and hoping the wind would calm down so we could light up the sky, we began to talk how rare it is for all of our families to get together, and enjoy being together. We all look forward to the 4th of July. The grandparents buy fireworks but never shoot them off. They are only for the kids!! We have forgotten how blessed we are to have a family that loves each other and enjoys being together. There has been a great legacy passed down from grandparents, to parents, to grandchildren, we pray that we will remain faithful and obedient to His leading in all our lives.
We have a lot of fireworks left over for tonight so we are praying the wind will calm down. It's always a blast!!

PS we also all get together for mother's day....at the park! Happy 4th!!
