The Mix

Catholics, Baptist, Methodist, Morman, Holdeman are and have been represented at my department. Our conversation last shift was started by my asking a former Holdeman Mennonite about the use of musical instruments. He related that it was not allowed within the church due to the verse as he said...."a clanging cymbal...." It was a great conversation starter. My response was "I believe that the verse you are refering to is talking about love...." We continued the conversation (9 of us) as we washed dishes. We had a great conversation, laughed and debated about life, God and what we all believe. I wonder if it will ever make a difference.
Just a few things we talk about at the firehouse.

To My Friend!

It has been nearly 20 years (I think) since you said "I do" and little did you know what you agreed to. We were young, poor and quite naive about life. In 20 years, we are now older, poor and quite naive about life!! We have built a house together while you were pregnant and survived. We changed jobs and moved with a brand new baby while going back to school and survived. You have been a great mom, teacher, nurse, counselor and wife. You have been my support when others were not. You have made each house a home that I love to come home to. You are a testimony to the community that we live in where mom's across this small city have witnessed your desire to serve the Lord. You have clearly presented the gospel to kids in this community. The men that I work with have asked if I could help them find their "Tami". I am so proud of you Tami. I pray for God's blessing and encouragement on your life. Thank you for loving me and raising three wonderful kids.
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!

Love, Rob
